ADVOCATE Center has developed administrative, technical, and regulatory systems and processes to support development and validation of electronic medical records cohorts and phenotypes to support research and quality improvement projects.

To help kick-start high quality HIV clinical research using real world data, we are proud to announce we have partnered with the Third Coast Center for AIDS Research to support up to five vouchers to Northwestern University faculty who are seeking to leverage Northwestern Medicine electronic medical records HIV Testing and Treatment Data for one of the following services:
- Grant feasibility tables
- *Manuscript support
- *Recruitment support
You can learn more about how to apply for the vouchers by watching the recording for ADVOCATE Center's collaborative event with the Third Coast CFAR that occurred on June 11, 2026 from 12 to 1pm CT (link forthcoming).
The voucher application opened on June 11. The voucher application link can be found here. Vouchers will be selected on a rolling basis through July 31, 2026. The voucher scope of work will be completed between August 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026.
Priority for voucher funding will be given to faculty who are planning an HIV-coded NIH grant application within the next 12 months.

*If selected for a voucher for this service, ADVOCATE will support faculty to obtain their own IRB and EDW data steward approvals. EDW will release all electronic medical records (EMR) data directly to the voucher recipient.
